“My husband and I moved to Colorado after Covid. As an older athlete, this beautiful state humbled me as my run, bike and swim times got worse and worse due to the altitude. Everything got slower. But I refused to let turning 60 stop me.
I met Rich one day after an open water swim. He was so friendly and approachable. He gave me some sighting tips before my next Tri which helped so much. I soon started to work with Rich every week to design a plan to improve my times for my 6th sprint Tri. He developed a plan for my busy lifestyle.
My biggest hurdle was the bike. I personally struggle to enjoy the ride. Rich gave me a program to keep me interested and improve my leg strength. He also improved my run time by incorporating more zone 2 runs. On my last triathlon, I shaved 16 minutes off my time!! This was a huge accomplishment over last year's struggle to finish. Rich was an amazing supportive coach.
I also attended the Tri Camp and met Coach April. The dynamic duo are a great coaching team. I learned some tips to allow me to do my best at 60. The best tip for me “Run your own race “. It was my mantra - I didn’t worry about my time or anyone else. I did my best and I’m so thankful for their insight.“
" I am beyond grateful to have Rich. There’s simply no way my training would’ve been half as good without him. Of course, a coach makes you accountable and less likely to skip or shorten sessions, which is a temptation that I think never truly goes away. But knowing I have someone who had all my answers, whether it’s spending time in the pool, talking about pacing strategies, and nerding out over gear, is wonderful. As much as I like to be pushed, I appreciate Rich’s gentle and understanding approach. This sport is mental as much as it is physical, and I know Rich truly understands that.
As far as the race day experience goes, I got two for the price of one! Even though April isn’t technically my coach, I’ve loved getting to know her at the bike camp and at Boulder 70.3. I know that April is fully in my corner, and having both of them in transition in Boulder was an absolute godsend.
Rich literally pumped my tires race morning—not because I couldn’t do it, but because I think he knew I was stressed and that it would be a small thing to help.
I can’t recommend him (and April!) enough."
" In my life I have had different coaches. Those who have used different modalities. The reason I fell out of love with swimming was due to coaches in my past. Through working with April, I have found that she wants what is best for her athletes not only athletically but also personally. Utilizing different mantras to keep me grounded was something that got be through IRONMAN 70.3 Boulder and I have nobody to thank for that besides April. Through bike camp she was able to push me and break barriers down that I did not know were there. Through this I had a successful race. She was able to help mentally prepare me for the hours on race day I would endure and ensure I was prepared accordingly."
" To be honest, time management was a huge hurdle for me. Running a law firm, managing spousal dynamics, navigating child care constraints, etc. all took time from my workouts and made for a completely erratic schedule. Rich was always so positive. He made me feel that my time management was actually not bad at all, and kept my focus through all of the day-to-day chaos. Our weekly Zoom calls kept me honest, and kept me galvanized to finish. "
" I've had many coaches in my life, and what stands out about Rich is his ability to make space for you as not only an athlete, but a person. People are so multidimensional that it's nearly impossible to ask only "the athlete" to show up during training and coaching, and Rich welcomes that. Being able to show up authentically as Laura the corporate leader, wife, daughter, sister, external processor, endless question asker, learner, etc allowed Laura to athlete to grow and thrive. By welcoming all of me, he provided scaffolding on which I could climb to evolve into this next (new, better) version of me - athlete and otherwise."
"Although Rich is a modest person, he truly has a deep understanding of all three triathlon sports. Rich helped me with my running form and made me much more efficient and, more importantly, helped me run in a way that was much safer for my body. Rich has also used his vast knowledge of drills and workouts to help me improve my swimming. He helped with logistical issues such as good places to bike safely and good spots to practice open water swimming."
"When I started my fitness journey with April, I weighed in around 220lbs. Today I currently weigh 202.4 and the weight has been falling off since I have made the choice to put my health first. Following the recent diet plan I've been doing has made a significant impact on my life and this is only just the beginning!"
"I’ve been lifting since college but struggled to clarify my goals and develop an effective/efficient routine accordingly, and I also did not understand how to incorporate nutrition. April gets to know her clients so she can fully understand their goals, and I think she’s so invested that she truly feels her clients’ wins are hers too; it’s fun to be coached by someone that excited right alongside me during my journey! Two of April’s biggest strengths are that she comes to coaching from a place of knowledge gained through experience (just check out her resume!), and that she’s very patient. I don’t know how many times I asked her to explain some differently because I wasn’t quite catching on, and she always found a way to help me understand. April has been an incredible coach for me, helping me get to my strongest and healthiest point ever to rock my 40s!"
" Coach Rich has led me on a journey to do my first Triathlon in 2025. Every month I improved on my TriDot score with his encouragement and positive coaching! I’ve been a gravel biker for 5+ years starting in my early 40’s and an athlete my whole life. Running and swimming were never my strong suits but I improved on all three in leaps and bounds over the course of 6 months! Every month I saw my biking go from a score of intermediate to highly competitive and running go from a 57 to 61, swimming went from absolute beginner to intermediate. The program works and Coach Rich was there every step of the way!!! He always was willing to coach and be a sounding board daily and communicated his encouragement and advice through avenues that worked for me and him. I live in a different state and when I was coming to his area he was willing to take time out of his busy schedule to help me learn how to swim more efficiently. If you have a chance to work with Rich hands down you WILL improve, as long as YOU do the work. Highly Highly recommend Coach Rich as your coach today!!!"
"Work with Coach Rich and thank me later. I have had the good fortune of working with Rich for the better part of the last 4 years and he has guided me to accomplishments that I never thought were possible. Rich's training philosophies, individualized approach and understanding of the sport will put you in the best possible position to succeed. Rich has coached me through the Ironman process, century rides as well as Colorado short courses. There's no challenge he isn't eager to take on. His experience in Triathlon, professional connections and his awesome 303Podcast make him a never-ending wealth of knowledge. Rich can help you be your best I promise."
"I have to workout due to the requirements of my military job and it was always something I'd put last, right next to my questionable eating habits. Working with April was wonderful and it was great to see the functional progress I made like using our 70 pound lawnmower without wanting to fall over midway through!"
“Working with April on team G2G was an experience I didn’t know I needed. As a weight lifter, I wanted to challenge myself by stepping outside of my comfort zone, and signed up for a half marathon with only 8 weeks to train. After seeing April’s post on using AI through Rundot, I was intrigued. Throughout the 8 weeks, the AI programming mixed in with April’s personal coaching was perfect. I received precise training sessions that were specifically made for my current fitness, my progress, my environment, and other individualized factors. It was pretty cool seeing how it all worked. April topped it all off with her authentic, and heart-filled coaching. From day one, she poured everything she had into making sure I was ready for race day. You can tell through her coaching that it isn’t just a job for her, but a true passion in helping others succeed. I’m so thankful for her guidance and support, and I would not have been half as ready as I was, if I just did it on my own. Forever grateful for this experience.”
"Not knowing that by the end of the year I had reached and excelled my goals was mind blowing. I knew I had set goals for myself, and had them in mind all the time, but what I did not realize through the lifestyle changes and habits I was creating through the work with April that they came to fruition. Through her process of habit stacking and setting small goals that add up to big goals has worked. Along with frequent check-ins for accountability
I started out saying I needed to run more to keep up with my PT test but did not like to run. I did it because I had to. That turned into doing it because it was part of a routine. I am now at the point where I don’t dread running, and I enjoy my run workouts. I wanted to be able to run a 5k, which I did months before I thought I would be able to. Now this year I want to beat my time and attempt a 10k. I feel much stronger in my everyday life and am able to keep up with my toddler which isn’t always an easy task.
Working with April has been incredible. Not only is she a great coach but a wonderful friend. I am personally benefited with her as my coach because she understands the stress of being an active-duty service member and working shift work, sometimes 12-14 hour days/nights, and then coming home to a family. The best part is that she doesn’t shame me for missing a workout or forgetting to track a habit, she understands, she’s an ear to listen, she’s a cheerleader when I need it, and adjusts my training plan accordingly. I am not in a cookie-cutter plan, my plan is catered to me and my lifestyle."
"Working out has always felt like a chore until I found G2G. April has helped me understand the value of strength training, and her support and encouragement have kept me focused on integrating physical fitness into my regular routine. I'm thrilled with the physical changes in my body and the mental shifts I've made through the educational content and the support of the G2G community. I highly recommend April as a devoted coach, skilled trainer, and passionate professional."
"The best decision I made was to use the TriDot training program and have Rich as my coach. I hesitated because of the cost but looking back at the challenges Rich helped me overcome and the accountability it created with my training - I likely would not have been ready or had the confidence when the race came (or even if I would have done it). Having weekly video sessions with Rich and the one-on-one swimming/biking/running training sessions, helped keep me accountable and improving my technique in all the disciplines. Rich exudes positive, supportive energy that helps you push through all the challenges of training for a goal!"
