Grit2Greatness Endurance Coaching

Coaching Beyond the Finish Line

Meet Coach Kristin Overton

I coach athletes ready to make that leap into long course racing, and long course athletes ready to take their performance to the next level—helping them find the confidence, structure, and pacing it takes to go the distance, without training taking over their life.

For me, coaching isn't only about the numbers on race day. It's about understanding what's behind the goal—why this distance, why now—and building a plan that respects everything else you're carrying: your job, your family, your stress, your recovery. I've been racing triathlon for almost 30 years, across every distance from sprint to full Ironman, with the half Ironman as the one I love most. I've raced more than 20 half Ironman events, competed twice at the 70.3 World Championship, and crossed the finish line at three full Ironman races. I've felt the nerves of a first sprint and the grind of an Ironman build, and I coach from that experience—not just from a plan on a screen.

I'm also an orthopedic physician assistant specializing in sports medicine, and that clinical background comes with you into every training block. When something feels off in your body, you're not just getting a coach's guess—you're getting a clinician's eye. Paired with TriDot's data-driven platform, that gives me the tools and the time to really get to know you: your goals, your health, your stress, and your family life—and to adjust your plan as those things shift, because they always do.

Because I'm not only your coach. I'm your sounding board, your counselor, your accountability partner.

Together we will use gratitude and resilience to create impact and transformation in sport and in life.

How I Serve My Athletes

Start With Your Why

A race is the goal on the calendar, but there's usually something deeper underneath it—whether you're stepping up from short course to long course for the first time or chasing a new level in a distance you already race. Together, we uncover what's really driving the goal, and we build a plan around that purpose so it can carry you through the tough weeks, not just the good ones.

Coach the Whole Athlete

You're more than your watts, splits, and training load. You have a career, a family, and a life that has to keep running while you train for something big. I bring my background as an orthopedic sports medicine PA into that equation—so your training adjusts to your health, your stress, and your schedule, not the other way around.

Expertise and Structure

You shouldn't have to guess what's next or wonder if a nagging ache is something to worry about. Using TriDot's data alongside my own racing and clinical experience, I build a plan that's purposeful and individualized—one that connects each session to the bigger goal, and that flexes as your life does.

Growth Accountability

Progress takes honesty and consistency. I show up as your accountability partner—celebrating the wins, asking the hard questions, and pushing when it's time to push. It's never about perfection. It's about building the habit, not chasing the motivation.

Better Together

Through our Grit2Greatness coaching community, you're never training alone. Alongside my fellow coaches Rich and KO, I invite every athlete I coach into monthly educational webinars, team meetings, and group chats—a place to learn from other athletes, celebrate each other's progress, and give and receive encouragement along the way.

Who I Coach Best

I do my best work with ambitious, purpose-driven athletes who:

  • Are ready to move from short course to long course racing
  • Want to improve their long-distance racing
  • Want a plan that fits around their work and family, not one that competes with it
  • Value having both a coach and a clinical perspective in their corner
  • Are willing to be honest about their health, stress, and recovery, not just their splits
  • Want accountability and encouragement, not just a training calendar
  • Are excited to be part of a team, not just an individual plan

You don't need decades of racing behind you. You do need to be ready to do the work—and let me help you do it well.
